I’m originally from Oxford, England but spent my childhood in several different countries besides England: Swaziland, Malawi, Kazakhstan and Russia. I have worked as an English teacher since 2008, starting off in Russia. In 2013 I acquired the Cambridge CELTA certificate and moved to Poland to begin working with the British Council, with whom I taught extracurricular classes at several primary schools around Warsaw. Since my background is in ESL, my strengths in the classroom are tailoring lessons to meet the needs of students with differing levels of English. For me it’s important that our bilingual young learners at Edison feel capable and comfortable and unstressed when expressing themselves in English: it’s key to their enjoyment of the bilingual school experience, which is in turn key to their international future prospects.
